Peer 1, Dameiro,

We’ve talked a lot about healthcare politics and policy over the past 15 weeks. Healthcare regulations are thought to be crucial to the delivery of services. In the healthcare sector, they offer technical assistance to evidence-based healthcare strategies and policies, assisting even with their implementation based on various values and consideration standards for the profession. Politics is seen to have a significant influence on how healthcare is delivered, how policies are developed, and how decisions are made in the healthcare setting. Politics is known to have an impact on how laws are created in the healthcare sector and how decisions are made about the distribution of various crucial resources required for the provision of healthcare services (Larsen, 2020). My mentors’ advice and encouragement have been essential to my academic performance. To help them better understand the topic they were studying, mentors gave them advice and assistance. Mentors serve as role models for their mentees by exemplifying the importance of cooperation and support among one another. We were able to more clearly understand the concepts at hand and apply them in real-world circumstances thanks to the direction and encouragement of our mentors. I feel a lot more confident in my ability to handle the difficult challenges of medical care change, politics, and activism after considering what I’ve learned in this class.

I had to educate myself on the politics of healthcare, the numerous sorts of medical centers in the United States, and the various ways to pay for them to dangle my toes in the water of strategy, politics, and advocacy. I’ve also got to read up on how nurses may work with their neighborhoods to enhance the health delivery system and facilitate more seamless changes in care. I found the clarifications of the policy-making process to be fascinating. The chapter that described the duties and obligations of nurses in various medical settings was quite instructive. I learned a lot from the article’s examination of political pundits and recommendations for how nurses might collaborate to influence policy. It is essential to comprehend how nursing staff might use cooperative lobbying techniques to improve care transitions and change the way healthcare is delivered. Nurses must be aware of the numerous volunteer options accessible to them because they are typically the first point of contact with patient populations who need medical care (Patel & Rushefsky, 2019). I have learned a lot from this course, and I will be able to use it in my future work in policy research, political activism, and advocacy. I now have a better understanding of the combined efforts of nurses to enhance care transitions and transform the healthcare system.

Peer 2, Arfilio:

There is little doubt that the knowledge I have learned over the course of this semester’s fifteen weeks is priceless. There is a two-way street effect between politics and the legislation that regulate healthcare systems, as the two are closely connected. The health care system’s effectiveness and efficiency are determined by national policy. The government should make these principles law. The government will be better equipped to meet the requirements and demands of its population if it is able to improve the delivery and provision of health care. Medical policy is developed with the needs of the public in terms of individual health in mind. As a leader in the healthcare field and an advocate for patients, RNs have the obligation of making sure their patients are receiving the best care possible. A registered nurse’s responsibilities extend much beyond those listed above. This is just one of many situations in which RNs are required to grab the reins. It is illegal for anyone without a current nursing license to take on this obligation on their own. (Whalen et al ,2020).

Nurses receive extensive training; yet, they need further knowledge in health policy in order to affect change in the standard of care provided by the health care system. Advocates for nurses’ rights are nearly universal in their conviction that more should be done to educate and prepare nurses to participate in policymaking. This argument emphasizes the value of preparing nurses to take part in the decision-making process at the policy level. The agreement’s principles emphasize the need of arming nurses with the information and expertise they need to play a role in shaping policy. Students in the nursing sector, however, gain a lot from both providing and receiving mentorship in peer-to-peer programs. (Ephraim et al, 2021).

This is due to the fact that many nursing students choose to act as role models for their fellow students. That’s because both parties can benefit from working together. This is due to the unique learning and teaching opportunities afforded to nursing students by their peers. Participation fosters self-directed learning, builds relationships, offers emotional and academic support, develops cooperation skills, and strengthens the ability to take the initiative. Participation may also lead to these benefits. In addition to these benefits, the recipient may also be eligible for counseling and academic support services.(s). Peer mentoring programs are beneficial not just for students, but also for teachers and administrators by making the classroom more comfortable and student-centered. For this reason, it should come as no surprise that mentoring by peers is successful. Because of this, pupils’ belief in their own abilities grows, creating a positive feedback loop. Mentoring by a peer can be seen as mutually beneficial for both parties involved. The term “peer mentoring” refers to the act of one student aiding another in their academic and/or professional development. (Mason et al, 2020).

When one student assists another, this is known as peer mentoring. how much the clinical learning environment itself, beyond the guidance of instructors, affects a student’s ability to become a certified medical professional. This holds true whether students are learning in a virtual or physical setting. Students may feel unprepared to navigate the healthcare system on their own if they do not receive this level of support, which is highly unlikely. This is because students have a slim chance of securing money on such a grand scale. This is because there is just a remote possibility that they will ever be able to acquire it. (Campos et al, 2019).
